The skill tree

Paths, forks, keystones and the spine: how the skill tree is built.

Every trader starts at the same root, with three paths leading down from it, plus the spine. Each skill needs the one above it on its path. The first skills cost 2 points, deeper ones 4, 6 and 8, and each keystone 16. You do not have to stay on one path.

What are skill points?

You get 1 skill point for every level, so a full climb to level 50 pays 49 points. Quests never pay skill points: they pay XP and credits.

What is a fork?

Where two skills sit side by side under Choose one, taking one closes the other. The skill card warns you before you commit. Both options of the next fork stay open whichever you took.

Can I unlock everything?

Not in one lap. A full path costs 36 to 38 points and level 50 pays 49, so you finish one path and start another. A prestige resets the tree, so plan what you build on each lap.

I picked the wrong skills. Can I start over?

Reset tree returns every skill point and locks everything again, so you can take a different path. It costs 10,000 credits each time.
